Hidden Vulnerabilities and Your Career

I recall a quote from Taleb's book Antifragile. In there, he said, "Firms become weak during periods of steady prosperity, hidden vulnerabilities accumulate under the surface, delaying a crisis is not a good idea." So that got me to thinking if you replace the term firms with nations, you have nations become weak during periods of steady prosperity, hidden vulnerabilities accumulate under the surface delaying in a crisis is not a good idea. It makes me wonder whether or not we'd have the same situation in Ukraine. If it hadn't been this way, if those nations hadn't become weak on the steady prosperity, and allowed those vulnerabilities to increase. So how do we relate that to your career?
