The 4 F's of Resume Submission
Dennis Guzik discusses his four f's for submitting a resume: fire, follow up, file, and forget. The first step is to "fire it off" by sending in the resume as soon as possible after becoming aware of an open position. The second step is to "follow up" within a couple of days by contacting the hiring manager or HR to confirm they received the resume and asking if they have any other questions. The third step is to "file it" by systematically organizing all application materials and follow-up notes for future reference when applying for other roles. The final step is to "forget it" and move on to pursuing new opportunities rather than obsessively waiting for a response, as many job postings may not result in an actual hire.
